Darko Bulatović, a journalist of the Radio and Television of Montenegro, was attacked while reporting on the Statehood Day celebration in Nikšić, on July 13, when an unknown person tried to take his phone with which he was recording the event.
The incident happened at the time of the conflict between two groups of citizens and the phone had a “press” sticker on it.
Bulatović reported the case to the Nikšić Security Center and attached a video recording of the disputed event as evidence. The prosecutor stated that the act contains the elements of the criminal act of attempted extortion. The police identified the perpetrator and on July 15, they detained E.L.
The court proceedings before the Basic Court in Nikšić began in October.
