BELGRADE, 12.03.2019. – Novinar Žig info portala Milan Jovanović dobio je stalnu policijsku zaštitu i pratnju, saznaje N1.

Milan Jovanović za N1 kaže da će svako njegovo kretanje od sada biti u pratnji nekoliko policajaca koji će voditi računa o njegovoj bezbednosti.

Jovanović kaže da se sada oseća sigurnije s obzirom na to da ga je vest da je predsednik opštine Grocka Dragoljub Simonović izašao iz pritvora veoma uznemirila.

Podsetimo, UNS je zatražio da novinar Jovanović i urednik Žiginfo portala Želko Matročević dobiju stalnu policijsku zaštitu jer je Simonović, optužen da je naložio da se novinaru zapali kuća u četvrtak pušten iz pritvora.

Simonović ostaje na slobodi pošto je sud odbio žalbu tužilaštva na puštanje iz pritvora. Simonović se prvog radnog dana na slobodi nije pojavio na poslu.

Posters accuse Serbian news agency of faking news

BELGRADE, 08.03.2019. – Posters accusing the Beta news agency of publishing fake news appeared near the agency’s offices in central Belgrade on Thursday.

The posters feature the agency logo and the words #FakeNews, Beta said in a Twitter post.

It added that as yet unidentified perpetrators put up the small-format posters on the night of Wednesday-Thursday.

Similar posters saying Danas #FakeNews and NUNS (Indepenent Journalists’ Association of Serbia) #FakeNews were put in the entrance to the building where Belgrade daily Danas has its offices.

The Trade union of RTCG employees demands signing of a harmonized collective agreement

PODGORICA, 07.03.2019. – The Trade Union of Radio and television of Montenegro (RTCG) employees demands from the director general, Bozidar Sundic, to sign a harmonized Collective Agreement of Public Broadcaster Service (PBS) within 15 days, said the president of this trade union, Jadranka Drobnjak.

At today’s press conference in front of the RTCG, Drobnjak explained that they agreed to the minimum, which is at the margin of the existence of the majority of workers in that media house.

“However, the director general now asks us to sign the unilaterally modified Collective Agreement. In that document coefficients that determine the level of salaries have been reduced, which is why we are deceived, threatened, and existential uncertainty becomes even more pronounced”, Drobnjak said adding that the new version is in only in favor of the management and “narrower circle around it”.

According to her, such attitude towards employees, representative trade union and social dialogue is completely unacceptable to them.

Drobnjak said that employees are waiting for the collective agreement from 2016, and that it was finally agreed in October.

“In October last year, during the negotiations with the director general and the other trade union, we came to an end, because Sundic said that he will no longer talk to us about the collective agreement and that this harmonized collective agreement is its finishing version”, Drobnjak said.

As she stated, given that the financial situation of the Public Broadcaster Service was harmonized with the collective agreement, they expected that the document would be passed through a regular procedure in the ministries of finance and culture and that it would be returned for signing.

Drobnjak points out that employees in the PBS, humiliated by personal income and exposed to various pressures, remain professional, loyal to both the media and the citizens who pay them. As she said, the budget is burdening the mistakes of the Council and management, as well as the uncontrolled hiring of people for enormous fees. All this is a burden that only affects employees.

“It is more than a clear interest of the employees to sign the Collective Agreement because even a modest improvement in the socioeconomic position means a lot, and with these salaries they support themselves and their families. All this Council of the RTCG watches peacefully”, Drobnjak concluded.

Court release Serbian ruling party official accused of torching journalist’s home

BELGRADE, 07.03.2019. – A Belgrade court has ordered the release of a ruling part official accused of organizing an attack on the home of an investigative journalist, N1 was told on Thursday.

The court issued a written order to release Grocka municipal Mayor Dragoljub Simonovic from police custody. Simonovic, a ranking official of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), was arrested on December 25, 2018 on suspicion of organizing the attack and torching of the home of Zig Info portal journalist Milan Jovanovic on the night of December 11-12, 2018.

N1 has been told that prosecutors filed a request to extend Simonovic’s time in custody fearing that he could make good on threats and repeat the crime he is accused of organizing but the Second Basic Court ruled to free him saying there was no longer any need to keep him in detention because all witnesses had given statements.

Jovanovic told N1 that the decision is incomprehensible, that he is scared again and wonders whether Simonovic will send men to destroy his property and take his life.

Belgrade’s deputy Mayor Goran Vesic said earlier that the city assembly does not have the powers to dismiss Simonovic as head of the Grocka municipality but can only call municipal elections if the legal requirements are met.

AJK expresses solidarity with Maltese journalists and calls for shedding light on the case of murdered journalist, Daphne Caruana Galizia

PRISHTINA, 07.03.2019- Yesterday and today, the Republic of Kosovo has been hosting the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Promotion of Trade of the Republic of Malta, Carmelo Abela.

While on his visit to Kosovo, the Association of Kosovo Journalists wants to use the opportunity to again express its solidarity with Maltese journalists and appeals to the Maltese state and government, part of which is Mr. Abela, to shed light as soon as possible to the case of murdered investigative journalist, Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Journalist Daphne Caruna Galizia was murdered on October 16th, 2017 by a bomb placed on her car. It has been over 500 days from her murder, while the investigation against the perpetrators has been followed with irregularities. It is still unknown as to who ordered the assassination. The Maltese Prime minister continues to reject the request of the family for a public inquiry.

AKJ appeals to Minister Abela and Prime Minister Muscat to shed light to her murder, to allow a public inquiry requested by the family, and to protect Maltese journalists in the future.

One of the key values of the European Union is the right of freedom of expression, safety of journalists and their protection. Only when journalists are safe in Malta and the case of Daphne Caurana Galizia has been resolved, can Minister Abela refer to the respect towards European values by the government and state of Malta.

Every attack against journalists is an attack against public interest, democracy and the rights of all citizens.

PRISHTINË, 07.03.2019- Dje dhe sot, në Republikën e Kosovës ka qëndruar ministri për punë të jashtme dhe promovim të tregtisë i Republikës së Maltës, Carmelo Abela.

Me rastin e vizitës së tij, Asociacioni i Gazetarëve të Kosovës shfrytëzon rastin të shpreh sërish solidaritetin me gazetarët maltezë dhe bën thirrje, që shteti maltez dhe qeveria, pjesë e së cilës është z. Abela, të ndriçojë sa më parë rastin e vrasjes së gazetares hulumtuese, Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Gazetarja Daphne Caruna Galizia, është vrarë më 16 tetor 2017 nga një bombë e vënë në veturën e saj. Kanë kaluar 500 ditë nga vrasja e saj, ndërsa hetimet ndaj vrasëseve janë përcjellë me parregullsi. Akoma nuk është zbuluar kush e ka urdhëruar vrasjen. Kryeministri maltez, Joseph Muscat, vazhdon të refuzojë kërkesën e familjes për hetim publik.

AGK i bën thirrje ministrit Abela dhe kryeministrit Muscat të ndriçojnë rastin e vrasjes, të lejojnë hetimin publik të kërkuar nga familja dhe të mbrojnë gazetarët maltezë në të ardhmen.

Një ndër vlerat kryesore të Bashkimit Europian është e drejta e lirisë së shprehjes, siguria e gazetarëve dhe mbrojta e tyre. Vetëm kur gazetarët të jenë të sigurt në Maltë dhe të jetë ndriçuar rasti i Daphne Caruana Galizia, ministri Abela mund të thirret në respektimin e vlerave evropiane nga qeveria dhe shteti i Maltës.

Çdo sulm ndaj gazetarëve është një sulm ndaj interesit publik, demokracisë dhe të drejtave të të gjithë qytetarëve.

Ukinut pritvor predsedniku opštine Grocka Dragoljubu Simonoviću

BEOGRAD, 07.03.2019. – Sudija za prethodni postupak doneo je rešenje o ukidanju pritvora predsedniku opštine Grocka Dragoljubu Simonoviću koji je 25. decembra uhapšen zbog sumnje da je organizovao paljenje kuće novinara portala Žig info Milana Jovanovića, potvrđeno je za N1 u Drugom osnosnom sudu. Očekuje se da Simonović bude pušten iz pritvora u toku dana.

Kako N1 saznaje, Tužilaštvo je od sudije Drugog osnovnog suda u Beogradu zatražilo produžetak pritvora, zato što se strahuje da bi Simonović mogao da ostvari pretnje i ponovi krivično delo.

Međutim, sud smatra da je saslušanjem svih svedoka u postupku prestala potreba za držanjem Simonovića u pritvoru.

Novinar Milan Jovanović kaže za N1 da mu je takva odluka suda neshvatljiva, da je sada ponovo uplašen čovek i da se pita hoće li Simonović još jednom poslati ljude da unište njegovu imovinu i život.

Podsetimo, zamenik gradonačelnika Beograda Goran Vesić izjavio je da Skupština grada nema ingerencije da smeni predsednika opštine Grocka Dragoljuba Simonovića, osumnjičenog da je naložio paljenje kuće novinara portala Žig info, već da samo može da raspiše vanredne lokalne izbore u toj opštini ako se za to steknu uslovi.

Novinaru Jovanoviću kuća je zapaljena u noći između 11. i 12. decembra.

Stejt department nagradio Oliveru Lakić

PODGORICA, 06.03.2018. – Istraživačka novinarka crnogorskog dnevnika Vijesti Olivera Lakić dobitnica je nagrade koju Stejt department svake godine dodjeljuje hrabrim ženama svijeta, prenosi Glas Amerike.

U obrazloženju Stejt departmenta za dodjelu nagrada “Međunarodnim hrabrim ženama” navodi se da je Lakić nagrađena za “svoju posvećenost istraživačkom novinarstvu i to što je simbol pokretanje medijske reforme, koji odbija da se preda u svojim naporima da razotkrije priče o kriminalu i korupciji, čak i ako se prijeti njoj i njenoj porodici”.

Lakić, koja je objavila više tekstova o švercu cigareta i drugim nelegalnim poslovima u Crnoj Gori, ranjena je u nogu 8. maja prošle godine, ispred zgrade u kojoj živi sa porodicom, na najprometnijem bulevaru u Podgorici, a šest godina prije toga je takođe napadnuta ispred svog stana.

Nagrada “Međunarodnim hrabrim ženama” dodjeljuje se od 2007. i to ženama koje su pokazale izuzetnu hrabrost, snagu i liderstvo u donošenju pozitivnih promjena u svojim društvima, često uz veliki lični rizik i žrtvovanje, navodi se na zvaničnoj stranici Stejt departmenta .

Dodaje se da su sve dobitnice zalagale za zaštitu ljudskih prava, promovisale poboljšanje položaja žena i podsticale mir i vladinu transparentnost širom svijeta.

Priznanje je do sada dobilo više od 120 žena iz najmanje 65 zemalja. Ove godine je deset dobitnica – iz Crne Gore, Džibutija, Tanzanije, Burme, Egipta, Jordana, Bangladeša, Šri Lanke i Perua i Irske.

Nagrade će biti uručene u četvrtak 7. marta na ceremoniji u Stejt departmenu, koju će voditi američki državni skretar Majk Pompeo, a kojoj će treću godinu zaredom prisustvovati prva dama SAD Melanija Tramp.
