Žarko Pejanović from Podgorica broke into the premises of the daily newspaper “Dan” on August 23, insulted the employees and broke the inventor, dissatisfied with the media’s coverage of the competition in which he participated.
The employees called the police, who found Pejanović on the spot and detained him. He defended himself that in the reports of the daily paper, his participation in the competition was incorrectly presented.
Before breaking into the newsroom, Pejanović sent threats to journalists by phone, with the words that he will “throw a bomb”.
The state prosecutor ordered the deprivation of liberty with a criminal charge for the act of endangering security to the detriment of employees.
The case was concluded by the first-instance decision of the Basic Court in Podgorica in October 2022. Pejanović pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four months in prison and a fine.
